Huang Mingjie was born on 2nd April in Zhan Jiang, GuangDong Province. In May his parents were concerned about his condition and took him to a local hospital where he was diagnosed with a serious heart problem. He was immediately transferred to Guangzhou Provincial Hospital where he had surgery.
黄铭杰4月2日出生于湛江。5月病情突发，才确诊患有严重的心脏病，在转院到广东省人民医院后马上进行了急诊手术。
Huang Mingjie has 3 older siblings. The family grow sugar cane in their own field and his father supplements their income with temporary work while his mother looks after the 4 children. Huang Mingjie’s parents have paid a considerable amount for his treatment so far, but it isn’t enough to cover the total cost of the surgery. It is also possible he will need future treatment.
黄铭杰有三个哥哥姐姐，父母在老家种植甘蔗为生，父亲偶尔打散工，妈妈在家照看几个孩子。他们为此次手术借到了一些钱，但距治疗总费用的缺口还很大，黄铭杰还有可能需要接受后续治疗。
