My name is Xiao Yan (a made-up name), and i'm four years old. I live in Qingyuan City, Guangdong Province.
I remember I used to cough a lot and get fevers. Later, my little feet wouldn't listen to me—they felt all tingly and numb. I couldn't run and play with my friends anymore.
Dad and Grandma took me to the big hospital in Guangzhou—Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital.
The doctor checked me and told Dad that I had a "little hole" in my heart (the doctor called it an "Atrial Septal Defect"). Blood from my heart was going the wrong way into my lungs, which is why I kept getting pneumonia. The doctor also said if I didn't have surgery soon, it could be very dangerous for me.
I remember how worried Dad and Grandma looked then. Only Dad works to earn money for our family. He really couldn't afford the money for my surgery…
But then, hope arrived! The doctor told Dad about a volunteer group called "Hopeful Hearts" that helps kids just like me!
They quickly helped us get in touch with "Hopeful Hearts".
In just two days, I was admitted to the hospital and had my surgery!
Today, the aunties from Hopeful Hearts came to see me!
Some spoke Mandarin, some spoke Cantonese, and some spoke languages I didn't understand.
They gave me a teddy bear—I love it so much!
One auntie told me: "The bear will protect you because you're a little warrior!”
Then came the best news! The doctor said that my surgery was very successful, and I can go home today! This sickness won't bother me anymore. I'm going to be a healthy, strong child!
I heard Grandma thanking the aunties. She said,"We spent so much money treating Grandpa a few years ago. Now, with her treatment… Her father really couldn't manage…"Grandma's voice trembled, and then tears started welling up in her eyes...
The aunties gently touched Grandma's shoulders and told her, “Everything will get better!”
Even though I'm still young, I understand what the aunties said.
I believe everything really will get better!

我的名字叫小颜（化名），我今年四岁，家在广东省清远市。
我记得，我以前老是咳嗽，发烧，到后来，我的脚脚不听话了，总感觉麻麻的，不能跟小伙伴一起跑跑跳跳了。
爸爸和奶奶带我来广州的大医院——广东省人民医院看病。
医生给我做了检查，告诉爸爸说，我的心脏有个洞洞（医生叫它“房间隔缺损”），心脏里的血液会跑错到肺里，所以我老是得肺炎
医生还说，要是不快点做手术，我很危险。
我记得，那时候爸爸和奶奶好发愁啊。家里只有爸爸在工作赚钱，给我做手术的钱，爸爸实在拿不出来了......
就在这时，希望来了！医生告诉爸爸，有一个叫“心的希望”的义工团体，专门帮助像我这样的小朋友！他们很快就给我们联系上了“心的希望”的叔叔阿姨们。
没过两天，我就顺利住进了医院，完成了手术。
今天，”心的希望”的姨姨哥哥们来看我了。
他们有的说普通话，有的说广东话，还有我听不懂的外国话。他们送了我一只毛毛熊，我好喜欢，姨姨告诉我：熊熊会保护我，因为我是小勇士！
最棒的消息来了！医生告诉姨姨，我的手术很成功，今天就可以出院啦！这个病以后不会再缠着我，我要变成一个健康强壮的孩子了。
我听到，奶奶跟姨姨们道谢。奶奶说：前几年给爷爷治病花了好多好多钱，现在要给我治病，爸爸真的没有办法了～说着说着，奶奶就哭了......
姨姨们抚着奶奶的肩膀，告诉她，一切会好起来的！
我虽然还小，但是我明白姨姨们说的话，我相信，一切真的会好起来！
